Pizza Hut's Blue Cheese Dressing

2/21/2020

Mom would always order
The salad bar for herself
When we'd visit Pizza Hut
Dad would get a beer
With a sprinkle of salt
And we'd watch the salt grains
Leaving strings of tiny bubbles
Streaming to a building thin head
On the surface of the beer

Mom would get her oval salad plate
Piled with lettuce, potato
And macaroni salads
She loved the blue cheese they had
And once we got a taste for it too
Especially with those small cube croutons,
She'd put a small pile on one end of the plate
JUST for us covered in blue cheese dressing
That we'd eat sneakily as we cherished each one.
